SPX Employees Give Back Around the World

SPX employees around the world contribute their time and energy to help make a difference in the communities in which they live and work. From helping children in Malaysia to raising funds for cancer care in the United States, SPX employees actively give back to help make the world a better place. Here are just a few examples:

  • Donating Food for Hurricane Sandy Relief: SPX employees in Getzville, New York recently supported Hurricane Sandy relief efforts by contributing food items to those affected in New Jersey. In the past, they have supported a wide range of community groups, including the Food Bank of Western New York, the American Red Cross, Hurricane Katrina Relief, United Way Day of Caring and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

  • Contributing a Cooling Tower to Ronald McDonald House: Employees from SPX Cooling Technologies in Olathe, Kansas and Brea, California worked to arrange for the donation of a cooling tower to the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Kansas City, Missouri, which works to reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families by providing a "home away from home" for families traveling for their child's medical care.

  • Holiday Charitable Giving in Riverside, Michigan: SPX employees in Riverside, Michigan organized an effort to collect clothing and holiday gifts for needy families in the local community.

  • Competing in Badminton in Warendorf, Germany to Help Children: Demonstrating community spirit and athletic skills, SPX employees in Germany established three badminton teams and participated in a local tournament to help raise funds for Aktion Kleiner Prinz (Little Prince Campaign), a nonprofit association dedicated to helping children in need around the world.

  • Charity Bike Riding in Malaysia: SPX Hydraulic Technologies sponsored a 13-day, nearly 1200-mile bike ride across Malaysia to help raise funds for three charities dedicated to assisting children in need.

  • Contributing to Cancer Care: Employees at SPX Flow Technology’s facility in Goldsboro, North Carolina participated in the Wayne County Relay for Life to raise funds for Southeastern Cancer Care, which provides support to eastern North Carolina cancer patients and their families.

  • Supporting an Orphanage in Kenya: A U.S.-based SPX employee traveled to Kenya to help execute a facility expansion project at the Rehema Home orphanage in Kenya. Many of his fellow SPX employees in Rochester, New York, donated funds to help cover his expenses for the trip.
