Coffee Company in Vietnam Taps SPX for Manufacturing Support

SPX has been selected to supply and install an extraction plant for a Singaporean agricultural commodity company that is expanding the capacity of its coffee production facility near Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), Vietnam. The project is being managed by an SPX Flow Technology team from Warendorf, Germany.

SPX’s work at the site began earlier this year and is expected to be completed in October 2012. When commissioned, the extraction plant will produce hundreds of kilograms per hour of liquid coffee extract, which will be spray dried or freeze dried in the factory’s drying equipment. Packages of instant coffee on store shelves will be the final product of this process.

This is the second project in which SPX has had a hand in the production of Vietnamese coffee in recent years.

The Warendorf team became part of SPX through the company’s 2011 acquisition of e&e Verfahrenstechnik GmbH. Services provided by the team include developing extraction, evaporation, vacuum and freeze-drying solutions for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
